Vacation 2014, Hunting Island State Park, South Carolina

Hunting Island State Park is located near Beaufort, South Carolina just across the border from Georgia in southeast portion of the state. The Park is just north of Hilton Head and is located on a barrier island surrounded by unspoiled beaches on the Atlantic side and salt water marshes on the eastern side. The campgrounds are quit large with over 200 sites all located within walking distance to the beach. There are many nature trails, bike trails, a fishing pier, a light house and wild life to make for an interesting and active stay. Barbara and I enjoyed walking the beaches and taking in the native landscape that gives this park so much of it's charm. I highly recommend making Hunting State Park a stop on your journeys up the east coast. You will not be disappointed.
